This place is such a vibe! The food is delightfully aromatic and packed with flavor. The cocktails are potent and full of depth. Great service from the team, super knowledgeable about the menu and ideal pairings. Falafel, hummus, batatas, and rice are all fantastic. We will be back to try the rest.

I had an absolutely amazing time at La Shukran! From the moment I walked in, the vibe was lively and welcoming. The food was incredibly delicious each dish packed with rich flavors and made with the freshest ingredients. The staff were all so wonderful, but I have to give a special shoutout to the manager, Mehdi. He was incredibly attentive, ensuring every guest felt valued and taken care of. His warm personality added to the overall positive atmosphere, making the experience even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for fantastic food, great service, and an unforgettable vibe, La Shukran is the place to be!

All I can say is, go to this incredible culinary gem as soon and often as you can! It’s a shame I don’t live locally or I’d be there all the time. La Shukran is a world class dining experience tucked off an unpaved alley behind an unassuming entrance. The small dining room makes for a warm and cozy vibe, with the wood fired kitchen in full view. The flavors of each dish were tantalizing, yet accessible and comforting. The wine list features low intervention small producers from around the world and the cocktail program is well curated to enhance the cuisine. I highly recommend La Shukran and look forward to returning as soon as possible. Pro tip: Reserve well in advance or arrive early for first come, first serve bar seating.

It took me and my homeboy a while to find the place, however it was worth the hunt. This place was recommended three times by other managers from two different restaurants in Union Market so we had to try it out. The restaurant itself is located in a loft type setting with an intimate gorgeous ambiance. The bartenders and managers were very friendly and engaging. We had a half dozen oysters off the Late Night Menu and a couple of well crafted tasty cocktails. The regular menu and escargot looks great so I must come back and give it a whirl. Cheers!!!!!

La’ Shukran serves a fusion medley of Mediterranean cuisine and hence definitely recommended. Set in the Union Market of Washington DC, the restaurant is a bit difficult to locate with the entrance slightly recessed from the street. Their speciality is Arak ( a Lebanese national drink made from grapes and aniseed) infused cocktails and the Zanjabeel is a great choice.

This is place is worth the hype and then some. My husband and I went there for a date night and it was an incredible experience. You definitely need a reservation. We walked in and up the stairs to a buzzing bar and restaurant. We arrived early so we had to wait a few minutes for our table. In that time a server asked if we’d like to grab a drink and gave us a really good explanation of their menu. She recommended the filfil and wow it was legit one of the best drinks I’ve ever had. The filfil has some chili in it but it’s not overpowering. Highly recommend. Then we got sat and started to order food. Every single item was excellent. The oysters were dressed perfectly. The picanha steak kabob is so good. The hot quail was really good, I was afraid it would be too spicy but it was perfect. The hashwei fried rice was seasoned to perfection. I also ordered the arabica which is non-alcoholic and it was delicious with a creamy cardamom foam. To finish it all off we had the cardamom tart which was outstanding in flavor, rich but not heavy with a light Labne cream on top. Highly recommend. Our server Nam was awesome and friendly along with the rest of the staff. It was expensive but it’s worth it.

Incredible food, cocktails, and service! The falafel with caviar is a standout, along with the soujek dumpling dish and beef tongue hummus spreads. Big thank you to Chris our bartender for the creative cocktails! This place doesn't take reservations so just show up and take the risk. Definitely put this spot on your list, well worth the wait.

This hidden gem near Union Market in the alley is a must-visit! From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with the most amazing scent - it smells like beautiful candles and sets such a relaxing, welcoming vibe. The restaurant is impeccably clean, both inside and outside, and it feels like every detail has been carefully thought out. We didn’t have a reservation, so we had to wait almost two hours for a table inside so here’s a tip: definitely make a reservation! While waiting, we hung out at the restaurant’s rooftop area, which was super cute and cozy. Even though it’s outdoors, the fire lanterns kept us warm. The rooftop menu is limited, so we ordered a few appetizers and drinks while we waited, and they were delicious. When our table was ready, we walked back inside and were blown away by how delicious the food and drinks were - every bite was perfect. I honestly don’t remember the last time I had such amazing food in DC. Next time, though, I would definitely not wait two hours for a bar seat. Make sure to book a reservation in advance to fully enjoy the experience without the long wait. This place is a total hidden treasure, and I’ll absolutely be back. No complaints, just a perfect dining experience all around!
